But apart from the quantity, the quality mattered as well. It became clear that cell phone development needed to be made easy and intuitive. Each company tries to facilitate the process of development so as average computer users would be capable of customizing their devices. For instance, RIM offers four options for BlackBerry development to please users of different levels. And the work on their simplification is going on.

Well, they have a motivation to work hard. Today, the volume of mobile applications market is several billion dollars. And according to the study conducted by Juniper Research in 2014 the direct and indirect revenues from sales of mobile applications will total 25 billion dollars.
